Year 7 Maths Tutoring Course

For a Smooth Transition to High School Mathematics

Course Outline

Years 7 and 8 are the foundation years for mathematical comprehension and probably the most important years to consider commencing a maths tutoring program.  The High School Mathematics curriculum is designed so that topics are first introduced in Year 7 and then revisited and consolidated in Year 8. These topics are further revisited and built on in Stages 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 of Years 9 and 10. Consolidation and understanding is key to the building of a robust foundation in Mathematics which serves as a platform for more advanced and sophisticated mathematics that is learnt in years 11 and 12.

Misplaced understanding and wrong conceptual thinking, or simply performing routine textbook examples and exercises with little understanding can lead to students having great difficulties with their mathematics in senior years. It is sad to hear of Students contemplate dropping a more advanced level of math for a lesser level simply because they struggled with the concepts in the earlier stages. Our intuitive approach to Mathematics stimulates and assists students in their conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills from Year 7 onwards.
